How the job went
Bigger machines, the same standards
Alongside the surface dressing, Bobby has worked on tarmac and civil engineering jobs with his uncle Jason Butcher's company, RTB Civil. These photographs show some of them: residential estate roads, a retirement village, commercial car parks and industrial yards, laid with a paver crew and finished with rollers and road markings.
Several show the work before the asphalt goes down: drainage pits, gullies and new kerb lines set in first. On any surface, the parts you cannot see when the job is finished decide how long it lasts.
