Hampshire covers more ground than anywhere else in our patch and changes character completely as you cross it. Chalk downland around Winchester and Andover, heavy going in the hangers above Petersfield and Alton, and the gravel and heath of the New Forest fringe down towards Ringwood.
Chalk drains well and gives a good formation to build on, which makes for straightforward and long-lived work. The clay caps and greensand further east do not, and a track that was fine for years can go soft in one wet season when a ditch silts up. Knowing which of those you are standing on changes the specification and the price.
The work runs from large arable yards and grain stores through to equestrian access, estate drives and rural business parking.

Farm track had been breaking up for years and we had patched it twice. They dug it out properly, sorted the drainage first and it has been through a winter now without moving.
Yard resurfaced around a working farm. They phased it so we could still get the milk lorry in and out every day, which nobody else quoting for it had even mentioned.
