How the job went
Sixty years of work at Tulleys
Our connection with Tulleys Farm goes back to the late 1960s. Robert Butcher, the founder of R. Butcher & Sons, did surfacing and tarmac work for Stuart Beare's father when Tulleys was still a working farm.
His son, Robert Butcher Senior, has worked with Stuart since they were both in their early twenties. Over the years that has meant tarmac and asphalt surfacing, tar-and-chip and surface dressing, and the groundwork and site maintenance that go with them as Tulleys grew into the visitor attraction it is today.
The next generation
Bobby (Robert Butcher Junior) has carried the connection on. He helps with surfacing and groundwork when it is needed and lends a hand around the site at busy events such as Tulleys Shocktober Fest.
The second photograph was taken at Tulleys and brings together the younger generation of both families: Robert Butcher Junior, Chris, Sam Beare and Mitchell Butcher. The first shows R. Butcher & Sons lorries lined up at the farm.
