Farnham sits on greensand, which behaves differently again from the clay and the chalk either side of it. It drains reasonably but it is soft, and a surface laid straight onto it without a proper compacted base will find its level within a couple of winters.
A good deal of the work here is on older properties: Georgian frontages in town where the drive is on show and has to suit the house, and outlying properties towards Tilford and Frensham with long private approaches through sandy ground and woodland.

Farm track had been breaking up for years and we had patched it twice. They dug it out properly, sorted the drainage first and it has been through a winter now without moving.
