Uckfield sits on the edge of the Ashdown Forest with the High Weald rising north of it. The lanes out towards Buxted and Framfield serve a lot of properties down long private drives, and those drives are where most of our work here happens.
A shared private lane serving several houses is the recurring problem locally. Nobody quite owns it, so nobody maintains it, and it degrades until it is genuinely difficult to get a car down.
