Our family and Turners Hill
Our connection with this corner of Sussex goes back to the late 1960s, when the founder of R. Butcher & Sons surfaced for the Beare family at Tulleys Farm in Turners Hill. Three generations of both families later, the relationship is still going. Read about Tulleys Farm.
Driveways in Crawley
Many Crawley homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s, with drives and shared parking courts laid at the same time. After sixty years on Weald clay the base under them has often had enough: cracks running the length of the drive, dips where the car stands and edges breaking up into the lawn. Laying a new surface over that only hides it for a winter or two. We dig out to sound ground, put in a proper compacted stone sub-base and lay tarmac, resin or block paving on top, with the falls taking water away from the house.

Manor Royal and the industrial estates around the airport have working yards that carry loaded vans and lorries turning in the same spots every day.
